Today’s Daily Grind is the first quiz out of the last ten to be rated below 1200 on our Elo-based Difficulty Scale. This scale is similar to the one used to rank chess players.
We’ve set the average rating to be 1200… so if a question is rated above 1200 it’s harder than average. If a player is rated above 1200, that player is better than average. We’ll be doing a lot of interesting things with the rating system in the next few months, so keep your eyes peeled if you are a stats geek like me. For now, you can see the first iteration of our stats display by clicking your hyperlinked username in the upper right hand corner of your screen… check it out, it’s pretty cool, and will only get better with time.
Anyway, today’s quiz is easier than the average Daily Grind quiz by around 100 ratings points… these 100 points translate around 3 extra questions answered correctly (out of 25) for an average, 1200 rated player.
There’s a couple questions on business trivia, the obligatory chemistry trivia question, and a bunch of cultural literacy trivia. If you like fluff, today’s quiz is not for you… I’d recommend our entertainment trivia section to scratch that itch.
