Miss California Thinks She Has a "Reputation"
Miss California Carrie Prejean, whom, if you'll recall is down on gay marriage but cool with fake titters, apparently has nude photos out there floating around. And naturally, since Perez Hilton has made it his personal goal in life to destroy Carrie Prejean, he's heading up the effort to get these photos leaked ASAP. But Prejean ain't going down without a fight. Her response to the allegations:"On April 19, I chose to answer a question during the 2009 Miss USA pageant in an honest and personal manner that expressed my views of the long-established definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman," Prejean, 21, said in a statement Tuesday. "Yet my comments defending traditional marriage have led to intimidation tactics that seek to undermine my reputation and somehow silence me and my beliefs, as if opinion is only a one-way street."
"I am a Christian, and I am a model," she said. "Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos." (Source)
In summary, Miss California hates Perez Hilton because he's gay and Perez Hilton hates Miss California because she's Christian. Ugh, will these two just knock it off already? They're starting to give me a headache. One thing's for sure though, I think Perez Hilton has seen the last of his Miss USA Pageant judging days. I think the council would go with Dr. Stephen Hawking or a registered sex offender before asking him again.
Like, honestly, I think she's, at worst, a bigot and, at best closeminded, but Perez is being such a fucktard about this. I understand why he doesn't like her, but the stuff people are digging up on her doesn't have anything to do with the thing people are mad at her about. Fake tits? Nothing to do with gay marriage. Posing nude? Nothing to do with gay marriage. Based solely on what she said (though I supposed one could make certain inferences about her other thoughts), which had to do with whether same-sex couples should be allowed to legally marry and not whether they were an abomination on the earth, all this bashing is groundless. As far as I know, she made no claims of moral superiority on her part. She's not one of those American Taliban hypocrites; she's just a garden-variety idiot who is being attacked for good reason but from the wrong direction.
Wait a minute, kids. Ms. US-whatever is not being hypocritical for being a x-tian and a model. I'm no Sunday School preacher, but I hear the anti-religious all the time saying (OK, yelling...) "How can you hate the nude human form if God made it?!" and somesuch other nonsense to the uptight and religious. Well, OK. It seems that miss God-fearing-with-a-nice-butt (no, really…*great* ass...) is saying just that - "Christian values" does NOT mean you hate the human body. She can be religious and naked (and even hot). It's how Michelangelo made his statues, why can't she sell underwear that way? Consistent with the belief system, coherent, and not in anyway contradictory with anything she’s said or done. Being an underwear model doesn’t necessarily mean she’s blowing guys for coke in public restrooms (like Perez does…). I could see where that might be grounds for questioning her ethical consistency.
So what is Mr. Pinktard Hilton’s Drama with the pictures exactly?
And wait a minute Geetch. You said she "is being attacked for good reason". What good reason? Cuz she has an opinion? Cuz it ain't your opinion? Wait, if we don't all share Geetch's opinion we should be attacked? How - do we stop at personal humiliation or should we just skip straight to the public execution?
Well I don't share you opinion on gay marriage. Turns out neither does my gay neighbor. She’s in favor of civil unions, but not rewriting the definition of marriage, even though she’s in a relationship where she’ll likely become an adoptive parent (and a mighty fine one at that…). My gay coworker *is* in favor of gay marriage, but he doesn’t think that gay folks should be busting out kids (too bad - I think he’d make a *fantastic* parent).
So what, should we all just attack each other because we have various opinions on this subject?. Should I cancel next week’s BBQ in favor of a gang fight? Let me know before I buy the steaks…
There are things that are really surprising.
1. We are OK with leaders and politicians that actually affect policy to openly oppose gay marriage yet when a beauty pageant contestant (girls who are typically really young when they compete - many of whom will likely have different opinions in life on many, many issues) does the same we overreact so much. These people are not even going to affect much in the grander scheme of things.
2. Also semi-nude? Have you seen some of the costumes those girls are asked to wear as PART of the competition? If THAT isn't semi-nude I don't know what is! Such hypocrisy! A lot of those costumes and swim suits are so revealing that this stuff should not be aired on prime time. Why the double standards?
She has done nothing wrong by having an opinion. Some hormonally imbalanced fudge packer asks her a question and didn't get the answer he wanted so the world has to put her on a cross? I think not. She is a beauty queen no matter what. I'm sure all gays will have their panties in a wad because of this - TOO BAD!
Which one is more damage for us? Homosexual who want to be commited to their patner or pornographic like CP?
I find it amusing the pageant is outraged by these photos. Less skin is shown than in the swimsuit competition. I still think she should sue the pageant. Notice how fast Trump was in front of a camera saying how she wouldn't have won anyway. Well Donald your argument is poppy-cock since your JUDGE/Gay activist said it cost her the crown.
