Depressing

Depressing: Something which is strongly morose or saddening.

Hey, were you having a good day? Maybe you had a nice conversation with a special someone, or you found a twenty in your pocket. You feeling good right now? Well, don't get too used to it, 'cause I've got a double shot of depression for you. First off, Mike Tyson's four-year old daughter is in critical condition right now after an accident in Tyson's home.

The boxing bad boy's 4-year-old daughter, Exodus Tyson, is currently on life support after getting her neck tangled in a cord from a treadmill in her Phoenix home Monday.

Police say Exodus was playing on the exercise machine at the time of the mishap. Her 7-year-old brother discovered her and called for his mother, who was cleaning in a separate room at the moment of the accident. She called 911 and the child was taking to St. Joseph's Hospital. (Source)

Our best wishes to the Tyson family that their daughter will make it through this ordeal. To make matters worse, The California Supreme Court ruled today on Proposition 8, and surprise! They upheld it.

The California Supreme Court has upheld Proposition 8 by a vote of 6-1. The 18,000 same-sex marriages performed before Proposition 8 took effect will remain valid. (Source)

Well, I think fulfilled my quota of soul-crushingly depressing news for today. Anybody else in the mood to drink away their feelings? Glurg.

Anyways, here's Mike Tyson at the premiere of the appropriately named "Tyson":

I posted this to your twitter, For Californians they could also come to Massachusetts or two another New England state to marry. It does suck.. least they allowing the ones who married before to stay married. But it's still not over yet.

A) There is no "s" on "anyway"

B) How the eff can you compare this tragic accident and injury to a little girl, which may cost her her life, permanent brain damage, or minimally a long and difficult road to recover (we can all hope for the best…), to your stupid political agenda. OK, guys can't get hitched to guys in CA. Oh, big effing deal. You can still take it up the Cincinnati Railroad and Smoke Stack all you like, Jeremy. It’s not like this is the last battle in the gays-getting-married saga. I know you’re bummed out about “your” issue, but plenty of people of goodwill on both sides of that issue. Nobody could possible be on a “side” when it comes to that poor little kid. Jesus T-Bone Burnett Christ son, let’s have a little perspective!!! It ain’t “All About Jeremy Monday” – certainly not for the Tyson family.

C) Where's Stacey...?

Well, to be fair ... Mike Tyson is kind of a bad person. So it's not as sad as it would have been if it like happened to one of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's kids or something.

Then again, Mike Tyson was pretty hilarious in The Hangover. But it doesn't make up for the fact that he's still a bad person.

I don't know what logic that was. I'm going to hell.

Well, to be fair, Ben Affleck can't pick a script to save his life, and Jennifer Garner looks like a cow skull with gummi lips attached. Therefore, their kids deserve to die.

That's how it works, right? I love a good inappropriate laugh, but come on, you're smarter than this. That wasn't logic, that was garbage.

Can you fucking hear yourself? I mean, I try to see all sides, and I hate, loathe and despise trolling, but: CAN YOU FUCKING HEAR YOURSELF? WASP pride, huh?

For someone who claims to have no religious affiliation, that is a pretty heavy dose of the very worst aspects of 'Sins of the Father' rhetoric going. Well, here I was wasting my time having a modicum of concern for an injured baby, but now I know that I'm supposed to be out burning down women's shelters. Thanks for the perspective. And for the sake of the little Affleck kids, let's hope Ben doesn't piss you off.

OK, I don't normally recant but just found out she passed away. I admit, bad joke. My most sincere apologies. It's not a four-year-old girl's fault her father is a domestic-abusing rapist.

Oh, no. That's so horrible. True, and by full admission, I have never by any means been a member of his fan club, but condolences go out to the entire family. I'm far too acerbic in my daily life to be allowed to hold petty grudges for more than 90 seconds. At any rate, it's just sad news.
