Gangrenous Spouse
Gangrenous Spouse (Noun) Refers to a celebrity's pre-famous relationship with a spouse who , like a gangrenous limb, eventually atrophies and breaks off as the celebrity realizes he or she can do much, much better, e.g. Johnny Knoxville's wife or the pregnant wife of "Ugly Betty's" Eric Mabius (above), who doesn't yet realize that she won't be able to trap him into the relationship by having his baby.
