I had a birthday one year where my boyfriend dumped me and my dog ran away, and I ended up spending the night completely alone, watching "Drew Carey" reruns and crying into a six-pack of Zima, which didn't even get me drunk but did give me a headache.* Suffice to say, I felt pretty sorry for myself that night -- but looking back on it now, I suppose there are worse things that can happen to you on your birthday.
