[Jennifer] Garner’s former Alias costar Victor Garber told Usmagazine.com that Ben and Jen’s little darling — who turns 2 next month — is now singing the Disney classic "When You Wish Upon Star."
And that’s not all!
"Violet is the most verbal child. She’s not even 2, and her vocabulary is daunting," he said at Glamour’s 2007 Women of the Year honors in NYC Monday night. "She can talk about animals, giraffes, and she mentions where she’s been."
In fact, in another W.I.M.B. exclusive, we've obtained transcripts from one of Violet's sing-song sessions, and it turns out, she's not only eloquent, but she has her father's Boston accent. Here is that transcript:
When you wish upon a stah
Your dreams come true
When you wished upon a stah ...
Dad! This song is wicked retahded. What kind of gahbge is your skeeza wife makin' me listen to? It's weeyahding me out. It's always with tha Twinkle Twinkle Little Stah and the Itsy Bitsy Spidah. Can we get some Standells in heah? Love that Dirty Watah! ...
Uh oh -- can't talk now. Violet gotta go onna hoppa. I gotta poo poo plattah in my diapah.
It always bothers me the way people think Boston accents work. And the words people seem to think are used here.
"Skeezer" is not used. Ever. Except in Mystic River and other such movies. No one has called a toilet a "hopper" since somewhere in the sixties or seventies.
And no one likes the Standells. Dirty Water is appreciated as a song separate from the rest of their catalogue.
You mock my accent again, and you're getting tossed in the drink.
Also, Affleck forfeited his Boston-ness a long time ago. Gone, Baby, Gone is the beginning of his reparations, but he has a bit to go.
Much like this entire article, Violet's capabilities are disappointing until you consider that she's two. I'm not opposed to celeb-bashing, but come on? A parent who's proud her kid can talk?
I feel a Nobel prize for her literature coming on.
