Achievement

MK_111607.jpgAchievement Defined
A thing done successfully, typically by effort, courage, or skill.

Because I like to give credit where credit is due, I'd like to award Mary Kate Olsen with outstanding achievement in dressing like an asshole -- as you can see, she has really outdone herself this time. A look this redonkously beat ass doesn't just happen, it's obviously carefully orchestrated. I mean, any old asshole can fashion themselves a kimono out of their grandmother's quilt -- but to pair it with hot pink Malibu Barbie pumps and a craft show purse? That's the level of innovation and commitment which sets Mary Kate above and apart from your typical asshole.

Usually stupid celebrity fashions just make me shake my head, but this one made me laugh out loud. She looks utterly ridiculous. I'm sure it was even funnier to watch her try to walk in those shoes. Even someone proficient in wearing high heels would have a hard time in those. She must have carefully orchestrated her evening so as to either be standing or sitting the entire time.

A couple of points to refine the analysis of this look:

(a) she's wearing a romper. Yes, ladies and gents, that thing has a crotch. Which may be handy in sparing us the genital-flash, but is in all other respects just ewwww. It looks like a big old diaper - she'd have room for one in there.

(b) The shoes aren't hot pink. Hot pink would be restrained. Those are FLUORO pink. Eeeeeeekkkkkk. I wonder if they're a retro-hypercolour thing and they change according to her mood. Pink is apparently bravado/embarrassment.

(c) What I think this is - it's menstrual wear. It's the solution to that perennial paradox - I've got my period but i want to wear white. Solution: wear ultra-absorbent white. She'd have to bleed to death to soak through this thing. Can also be used for gunshot victims or people recovering from surgery who still need to hit the red carpet.

On an aside though, what is that fabulous tapestry she's blotting in front of?
